Sophia Kalantaridou MD, PhD

Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility, Medical School National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Sophia Kalantaridou is Professor of Obstetrics – Gynecology and Infertility at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Medicine, Athens, Greece. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens (1989). Postdoctoral training at the Section on Women’s Health, Developmental Endocrinology Branch, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA (International Fogarty Fellowship Award). She has received scholarships from the Alexander Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and the Hellenic College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the recipient of multiple honors and awards from the American Endocrine Society, the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology, the Hellenic College of Endocrinology and the Hellenic Heart Society. She has been the President of the Hellenic Authority of Assisted Reproduction (2018-2020) and member of the Hellenic Authority of Assisted Reproduction (2016-2018).

She has 108 publications in peer reviewed Journals and book chapters. She is president of the Hellenic Society of Contraception and vice-president of the Hellenic Society of Climacteric and Menopause. She is member of the American Endocrine Society, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and the European Society of Contraception.
